Kimbrough attended
The Lovett School inAtlanta, Georgia . Kimbrough graduated from theUnited States Military Academy in 1989 with aB.A. inaerospace engineering and served as anApache helicopter pilot in the firstGulf War , Desert Storm in 1991. Kimbrough later attended and graduated from Georgia Tech with a master’s degree in Operations Research in 1998. He helped NASA train astronauts on landing procedures for several years before he himself was selected for training.As of
January 1 ,2006 , he holds the rank ofLieutenant Colonel in theU.S. Army .NASA career
Kimbrough is assigned as a Mission Specialist on
