Sir Nigel Sweeney is a High Court judge.
Previously he was a barrister in the United Kingdom. He has appeared in a number of high profile cases including the trial of the 1984 IRA Brighton bombing and the trial of the attempted bombings of 21st July 2005.[1]
He was called to the bar in 1976 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2000. Sweeney was appointed to the High Court in September 2008.[2]
Sweeney is an avid golfer and carries a 5 handicap.

Mr Nigel Sweeney QC prosecuted Michael Stone in The Chillenden Murders Case in 1998.
