Lampiri or Lambiri (Greek: Λαμπίρι), older forms: -o and -on is a Greek village located southeast of
Patras . Moira had a population of 246 in 2001 for the village. Moira is also in the municipality of Patras since the late-1940s. Lampiri is connected with the old GR-8 and is connected with the new GR-8A/E65 (Athens -Corinth - Patras) 8 km southeast by Longos. Lampiri is located 28 km southeast ofPatras and approximately 12 km northwest ofAigio . Until 1998, it was part of the old commune of Ziria and joined to becomeErineos under theCapodistrian Plan .Nearest places

Geography
Lampiri is situated in a area that is between the mountains and the sea. The mountains are to the southwest and are covered with forests near the plain and grasslands in the highermost elevation, the rest of the area are made up of farmlands. main production are fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others as well as dairy, livestock, olives and others. The majority of the population are based in other businesses as well as agriculture.
History
The area around Lampiri in the ancient times was the centre of the
Achaean League and the today's Lampiri was the port of the ancient Erineus in which was destroyed in 412 BC by Athenian and Corinthian generals.The origin of the name came from Gerardin de Lambrie who was a person for the whole area during the 13th century. during the Frankish rule in most of southern and central Greece. In the mid-15th century, the area was plundered and joined the
Ottoman Empire . Greek rule did not return until the Greek Revolution in 1821 and later finally joinedGreece . Lampiri saw their economy boom but the population stabily growing.Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Most of the homes are abandoned today.
After
World War II and theGreek Civil War , much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearbyPatras . The population decline slowed between the 1981 and the 1991 census, the population rapidly declined between the 1991 and the 2001 censuses.Lampiri today is the touristic centre during the summer months.
