He is a versatile player, able to play on the both sides of the field. His father, Tonči Gabrić, is a former Hajduk player and a Croatian international goalkeeper.
On 23 May 2011, he has been seriously injured in a car accident near Split, Croatia. According to his country media report, he sustained a fractured skull and was in a coma. His condition improved, he was soon released from the hospital and is expected to regain a full recovery. His club at the time, Trabzonspor, has since terminated his contract.[1] In September 2011 Gabrić signed for Hajduk Split.[2]
