Amphoe ") in theKanchanaburi province in westernThailand .Geography
The district is located in the valley of the Khwae Noi river. It borders to
Myanmar to the south. Along the river theDeath Railway runs till Nam Tok. TheSai Yok National Park was created onOctober 27 1980 and covers an area of about 500 km². The most famous sight in the park is theSai Yok waterfall .Neighboring are (from north clockwise) Thong Pha Phum, Si Sawat, Mueang Kanchanaburi of Kanchanaburi Province and
Tanintharyi Division ofMyanmar .Sights
Apart from the nature of the Kwae Noi river valley, the other main attraction is the
Mueang Sing historical park , which shows the westernmost Khmer style temple complex. Also popular for tourists is theTiger Temple .Administration
The district is subdivided into 7 subdistricts ("
tambon "), which are further subdivided into 55 villages ("muban "). There are two townships ("thesaban tambon ") - Lum Sum covers parts of "tambon" Lum Sum, andNam Tok Sai Yok Noi parts of "tambon" Tha Sao. There are further 7 Tambon administrative organizations (TAO).External links
