Bachelor of Journalism

The Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) degree is a professional degree awarded to students who have studied journalism at a three or four-year accredited university. Not all universities, offer this degree. In the United States some schools confer a Bachelor of the Arts, Journalism (BAJ), or Bachelor of Science, Journalism (BSJ) and is often part of or in conjunction with mass communications.

The organization that accredits university level journalism programs is the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas. In the U.S. there are currently 109 accredited programs in 40 states.
