He originally started out as an apprentice at
Parramatta Power before moving toSydney United under the tutelage ofBranko Culina . At the end of the 2003-04NSL season he moved toK.V. Oostende in the Belgian First Division. After a brief stint there he moved to another Belgian First Division club K.Sint Truidense V.V. before a move toHungary saw him play atÚjpest FC for a six month spell, but didn't play in a single game whilst at the club. On June 23 2007 it was announced he was signed byA-league clubSydney FC on a 2-year contract, thus reuniting him withBranko Culina .Since joining
Sydney FC in mid 2007, Brendan has scored 3 goals in 14 appearances, including a stunning shot from outside the box, that curled into the top corner againstSouth Australia n teamAdelaide United in which Sydney ran out winners 3-1 at theAdelaide Oval . He scored another cracker against Adelaide again in the 2008/09 season at theSydney Football Stadium , when he took a shot from 35 meters out, that slammed into the top corner.
