- FEFLOW
FEFLOW (Finite Element subsurface FLOW system) is a computer program for building and simulating
groundwater flow. The program uses afinite element analysis to solve thegroundwater flow equation of both saturated and unsaturated conditions. The software has been under development since 1979 by WASY GmbH ofBerlin ,Germany (the acronym WASY translates from German to "Institute for Water Resources Planning and Systems Research"). The company has since been renamed to DHI-WASY GmbH after joining theDHI Group .FEFLOW has a unique
graphical user interface when compared to most otherMicrosoft Windows -based groundwater modelling software. This is attributed to the Motifwidget toolkit used to develop the interface. The program is offered in both
32-bit and64-bit versions forLinux and forMicrosoft Windows operating systems (using a proprietaryX Window System , Hummingbird Exceed). Support forUNIX platforms ended with version 5.3; prior support was provided forIRIX , Tru64, and Solaris.Peer review
