USS Agent (AM-139) was an
Admirable class minesweeper , originally planned as Agent (AMc 116); later changed to AM-139. Laid down on 8 April 1942 by theTampa Shipbuilding Co.,Tampa, Florida . Launched on 1 November 1942, completed 10 July 1943 and transferred to theSoviet Union as "T-112" the same day. Reclassified by theU.S. Navy as a Fleet Minesweeper (Steel Hull), MSF-139, 7 February 1955. Reclassified TB-21, 15 October 1955, VTR-2Y, 8 March 1966, UTS-288, 20 April 1972.World War II Lend-Lease to Russia
She was transferred to the
Soviet Navy on 10 July 1943 under thelend-lease program . She served theSoviet Navy as "T-112" with Senior Lieutenant Vladimirov in command, and theSoviets have retained her since that time.Deactivation
Agent was carried on the American Navy List - as MSF-139 after 7 February 1955 - until her name was struck from the
Navy Register 1 January 1983. Abandoned 31 January 1991.References
