Siegbert Salomon Prawer (born
February 15 ,1925 in Cologne, Germany and educated atKing Henry VIII School, Coventry andJesus College, Cambridge ) is TaylorEmeritus Professor of German Language and Literature at theUniversity of Oxford . He was Lecturer at theUniversity of Birmingham from 1948 to 1963, Professor of German atWestfield College London from 1964, and became Taylor Professor in 1969. He is a Fellow ofQueen's College, Oxford .His sister is the writer
