He played for the Houston Astros and the Toronto Blue Jays. He is the cousin of singer Peter Lemongello.
Lemongello, who finished his career playing in Toronto, once asked if Canadians "spoke American."[1]
In 1982, a few years after his leaving baseball, Lemongello and Manuel Seoane (a former teammate), were arrested for the kidnapping and robbery of Lemongello's cousins Mike Lemongello, a former professional bowler, and Peter Lemongello.[2] Lemongello was sentenced to ten years probation after he pled no contest to the charges.[3]
