restaurant on a revolvingfloorplate . The building remains stationary and the diners are carried on the revolving floor. The revolving rate varies between one and three times per hour and enables the visitors of thetower restaurant to enjoy the panorama of the tower without leaving their seats. Florianturm , a TV tower inDortmund , Germany, was brought into service in 1959,John Graham , aSeattle architect and early shopping mall pioneer, is said to be the firstFact|date=July 2008 to come up with the idea of this sort ofrestaurant when he createdLa Ronde on top of an office building at theAla Moana Shopping Center inHonolulu in 1961. Graham later also used the technology to build the revolving restaurant still in service at the top of Seattle'sSpace Needle .ee also
