Samantha Jade is an Austrailan Model, Actress and Singer-Songwriter from Perth, Western Australia. Her debut album My Name Is Samantha Jade is set to be released on 22 February 2009.

Rise To Fame

When she was "16", she wrote her first song "Secret Love," sung by teen pop star JoJo. In 2003, Jade moved to Los Angeles along with her parents and two younger brothers (Thomas & Alex) in order to pursue her singing career. Samantha Jade performed the title track to the 2006 dance/romance film teen hit "Step Up" Samantha Jade had already retired as a successful model in Australia when she made her worldwide pop music debut at the age of 16. Modeling began at age four; being bitten by the music bug came at age nine when Samantha won her first talent show singing "Amazing Grace." Writing music soon became a passion, and by 2004 when she was just 16 she landed her song "Secret Love" on the Shark Tale soundtrack. The song was performed by teen pop star JoJo, but it wasn't long before Jade's powerful singing voice would be featured on another soundtrack, 2006's Step Up, which put the now 18-year-old singer in the company of Ciara, Kelis, and Sean Paul. Jade's track, also titled "Step Up," was written in part by superstar songwriter Diane Warren and produced by Wyclef Jean. The Jive record company used the catchy single to promote Jade's own full-length debut, which was promised for later in the year.

Jade worked on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and High School Musical star, Ashley Tisdale's debut album, providing backup vocals for tracks, including "Positivity".

Acting career

It has been confirmed that Jade will make her film debut starring in the upcoming 2009 film "Way of the Dolphin" (http://www.wayofthedolphinmovie.com/) as Kita. Filming took place in Freeport, Grand Bahama, The Bahamas between July-August 2008. Other than WOTD Jade beat hundreds of hopefuls for the role of Louisa in the Rodger's and Hammerstein's production of The Sound of Music.

Music career

Her long awaited debut album My Name Is Samantha Jade is expected to be released in 22 February 2009. The album has been two years in the making since 2006. Her first single entitled "Turn Around" was released in 2007. The album has been confirmed to be released on the 22 February 2009.

Modeling

Jade has since retired from modeling after a long successful modeling career.
