MirrorWalker was the first comic book ever to combine cartoons with special effects photography throughout the issue. The concept and the main character, Alan Nonsense, were created by Barry Daniel Petersen who approached Chicago-based, award winning photographer Erich Schrempp to give the production the unique graphic edge he was looking for.
The name Alan Nonsense was a tribute to the Lewis Carroll book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland: Al - in - Nonsense. Like Alice, Alan was able to walk through mirrors into different realities.
The concept was originally sold to NOW Comics and a script was generated by fan-favorite Marv Wolfman who joined Petersen and Schrempp to create the comic book as published by NOW in 1990.
