Lara Parker was born Mary Lamar Rickey in
Knoxville, Tennessee on October 27, 1940. A graduate of Rhodes College and the University of Iowa with Masters Degree in the arts, she is afilm andtelevision actress best known as the witch named Angelique on the cult ABC-TV serial "Dark Shadows " which aired from 1966-1971. TV fans will recall her playing the role of "Laura Banner" in the opening sequence of the pilot of the TV series "The Incredible Hulk" (1977) and the fashion model/witch "Madelaine" in the "" episode "The Trevi Collection". Other appearances on TV include "Kung Fu", "Kojak ", "Quincy M.E. ", "Hawaii Five-O ", "The Rockford Files "," "Highway to Heaven ", the CBS daytime serial "Capitol" and the ABC "daytime serial "One Life to Live ". Parker's best known movie role was in the Jack Lemmon oscar-winning drama "Save The Tiger" in 1973. Parker played a sympathetic hooker who is devastated when her client suffers a near fatal heart attack."In 1998, Parker published a novel, "Angelique's Descent", and its sequel, "Dark Shadows: The Salem Branch", released in July 2006. She has recently reprised the role of Angelique for a new series of Dark Shadows audio dramas from
Big Finish Productions and is the reader for the audiobook recording of her novel "Angelique's Descent" (also released byBig Finish Productions ).Parker is married to former
actor Jimmy Hawkins ("It's A Wonderful Life "; "The Donna Reed Show ", and "Petticoat Junction "), now a building contractor. The couple have a daughter, Caitlin Elizabeth Hawkins (born 1985), who is studying documentary filmmaking. Parker has two sons, Rick (a record producer) and Andy (a contractor) from her first marriageto artist Tom Parker.
