Watson was born in Oakland, California. He is possibly best known for his role as Deputy Perkins, first on B.J. and the Bear and later on The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo. He also played Uncle Buster in the sitcom, Harper Valley P.T.A. Watson has twice played the comical sidekick of a police officer. He played opposite Claude Akins in The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo and in Up in Smoke he played the assistant of Stacy Keach. Watson played guest roles in shows such as as The A-Team, Airwolf, The Rockford Files, Murder She Wrote and M*A*S*H as well as movies such as Papillon. Watson made his debut in 1968, in an episode of Gunsmoke.
Ironically, the last role he played was in 1992, in the television film Gunsmoke: To the Last Man.
Mills Watson retired from acting and moved to Oregon, where he resides on 22 acres (89,000 m2).[1]
