Muhamed Hevaji Uskufi Bosnevi (Turkish: Mehmet Hevayi Uskufi, born c. 1600 in Dobrinja near Tuzla, died after 1651) was a Bosniak alhamiado poet and writer, and author of the first Turkish-Bosnian language dictionary in 1632, one of the first Bosnian disctionaries. His Bosnian-Turkish dictionary - "Magbuli ’arif", completed in 1632, is one of the first dictionaries in South-Slavic languages. The hand-copy of Salih Nikšićanin, son of Šaban, who copied it in 1798 in Sarajevo, can be seen at Archive of City of Sarajevo. It is written in Bosnian and Turkish and script is Arabic, dimensions of the book is 17 x 11, and has 14 sheets.[1]
In his works Hevaji calls his language "Bosnian", and he emphasized his ethnicity as Bosniak. His pseudonym was Uskufi.
