Patrick John McCarthy (Born February 17,1960) Is an English Jazz guitarist and Songwriter. He has produced and recorded 3 studio albums, 2 of which were with 'The Pat McCarthy Quartet', consisting of Pat McCarthy, Joe Davis (former snooker legend), Alex "Danger" Harrington, Lukas (famous biochemist) Saul, and Gav.. McCarthy has also featured in 8 albums, and has worked with well known jazz artists such as Jamie Cullum and Alan Barnes. Paddy was instrumental in his use of scales and harmonies in music - a groundbreaking development. But his immutable modesty was an ever endearing facet of his personality - later earning him the nickname: "Padstow Station". However, his oleaginous smarm failed to win the support of the masses, who were decidedly repulsed by his unctuousness, thus bringing a swift end to his flourishing career. Thus another prodigious jazz musician was doomed to wallow in obscurity.
