Trumbullplex

The Trumbullplex is an anarchist housing collective and showspace at 4210 Trumbull in the Woodbridge neighborhood of Detroit, USA.cite web |url=http://www.metrotimes.com/editorial/story.asp?id=3681 |title=Radically wholesome |accessdate=2007-12-17 |last=Osborne |first=Domenique |date=2002-11-09 |publisher="Metro Times"] It was created in 1993 when members of the collective established the nonprofit corporation Wayne Association of Collective Housing and purchased the property, two Victorian houses on either side of a single-story art space.

The collective's mission statement asserts that they “want to create a positive environment for revolutionary change in which economic and social relationships are based on mutual aid and the absence of hierarchy.” It acts on the basis of consensus decision-making and serves as a home, theater, art gallery, infoshop, meeting space and temporary residence for traveling activists.cite web |url=http://www.schrumpfendestaedte.de/fileadmin/shrink/downloads/pdfs/WP-Band_III_Detroit.pdf |title=Detroit III |accessdate=2007-12-17 |last=Booza |first=Jason |format=.pdf |month=March |year=2004 |work=Working Papers |publisher=shrinkingcities] The art space and infoshop are run on a donations-only basis, and members each pay off a portion of the properties' mortgage each month and divide household tasks into maintenance, long-term repair, finance and outreach.

The collective also contributes to a nearby school for teenage mothers, the Catherine Ferguson Academy, to Detroit organizations promoting agriculture, and to a variety of other causes and organizations It was awarded "Best Place to Hang out with Anarchists" by Detroit's "Metro Times" in 2002.
