Jerry R. Ehman is an American astronomer. He detected the strong narrowband radio signal known as Wow! signal on August 15, 1977 while working on a SETI project at the Big Ear radio telescope of Ohio State University.
Biography
Ehman has a Ph.D. degree in astronomy from the University of Michigan where he specialized in radio astronomy. He taught electrical engineering at the Ohio State University while working on the Big Ear project.[1]
