"LEGO Universe" is an upcoming massively multiplayer online game developed by NetDevil. It is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2009.

Trailer

A trailer has been leaked showing concepts of the game. These include Character customization using the traditional Lego method, a workshop where a car is created from Lego bricks, a Lego city populated with sets from numerous different Themes, and a short theatrical battle between an eye-patched Lego minifigure and a "Darkling" [http://kotaku.com/gaming/exclusive/the-lego-universe-trailer-271566.php]

Gameplay

Lego has confirmed that Lego Universe will be cooperatively played with others to accomplish in-game tasks rather than player versus player gameplay.

Development

The Lego Universe website has gone through two major changes from a website just saying that you should sign up to a website with a gallery, front page news, and an archive of past newsletters. A new update has been announced along with the revelation of the Lego Universe logo in June 2008's newsletter. This new update includes the launch of the Lego Universe's new website. Lego is currently allowing Lego fans to upload photos of Lego creations they have made so the Lego Universe staff will have an idea of what to include in the game.

Life in Lego Universe

Wonderland is in Lego Universe as one of the Lego Universe images state that in the map section, the image takes place in an area called "Wonderland". The currency of the game will be plastic, which can be used to create Lego bricks. The game starts out with you in the forest (probably Wonderland) trying to help out pirate people defeat the red ninjas. At the base (close to where you began) you can build several parrot callers to get coins/studs (like the Lego Star Wars Video Game Series.)

Cost

It has been confirmed on the Lego Universe official site that Lego Universe will be based on a subscription model.
