- Bismarck State College
Bismarck State College (BSC) (est. 1939), the fourth largest college in the
North Dakota university system with approximately 3500 students, is a comprehensivecommunity college that offers two-year, four-year. BSC offers the first two years of education toward abachelor's degree in most fields. It offers 20+ bachelor's degree and several graduate programs in conjunction with other university system institutions. Approximately 35 technical programs are offered, and more than 150 courses are offeredonline . Unique to the institution are degrees in energy education, including power and process plant technology,ethanol training,nuclear power technology, andelectric power technology.Bismarck State College also offers technical degrees in areas ranging from network/system administration to web design.
Residence Life - Student Housing
Students have the option of residing in three residence halls on campus - Swensen Hall (female), Werner Hall (male), and recently dedicated (2008) Lidstrom Hall (co-ed).
Student Life
Student activities are managed by the staff of the Student and Residence Life Office, located in the Student Union building on campus. Students can register for meal plans, request housing, visit the bookstore, sign up for intramurals or student government, and learn about the activities provided for them on and off campus. Dances, hypnotists, comedians, artists,
barbecue s, and tie-dye are popular events. A streak of events in October is part of the campus' "Fall Fantasy" promotion, while in the late winter February becomes "Fun-u-ary" and offers another plethora of events.BSC has hosted many venues including Sailesh and the guy from www.GreatBigFaces.com,
