James Crosthwaite

James Crosthwaite

James Lee Crosthwaite (b. 23 August, 1987) in Melbourne, Victoria is an Australian cricketer who plays for the ACT Comets. He is a wicketkeeper and aggressive right handed batsman.

Made the move from Victoria to Canberra at the start of the 2005/06 ACT Cricket Association season to improve his chances of getting a contract with a state team playing in the domestic competition. Played in the Commonwealth Bank Under-19 Championships for the ACT U/19s in the 2005/06 and 2006/07 seasons. In the 2006/07 Commonwealth Bank Under-19 Championship he played as one of the ACTs two nominated 19 year old players.

Crosthwaite made his first appearance for the ACT Comets in the second match of the 2006/07 Cricket Australia Cup on 27 November, making 32 and 35 with two catches in an innings and 115 run loss to New South Wales Second XI. Crosthwaite then went on to make 87 against Queensland Academy of Sport, 65 and 0 against Tasmania Second XI. Crosthwaite finished up averaging 43.8 for the season.

Crosthwaite is spending the 2007 season as an amateur for Greenock Cricket Club in Greenock, Scotland in the SNCL Premier League.
