It is partly funded by the government of Orissa, and partly self-financed. The institute has a convert|100|acre|km2|sing=on campus close to the new Infocity-II area in the city, where several IT companies are building new offices. It started operating in September 2007, with a small initial intake of 25 students in M.Tech(Computer Science and Engineering) . [cite web
