Pan Bazar is a locality situated near 'James Street' Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Pan bazar is a residential and commercial area in the heart of secunderabad city.

Economy

A wide variety of businesses consisting of wholesale cloth merchants, gold merchants, hardware equipment stores, steel market stores and transportation companies are located here. Recently, lot of commercial establishments on MG Road like Cafe Coffee Day, Hotel Leo Continental and Hotel Tirupathi Bheemas have added some zing to the place. The Bombay chat is one of the best places to have chat in Secunderabad. A few wholesale snack vendors also operate in this area. One can find good shops that sell incense, rose water and other locally made perfumes, most notably the "Mastan Darbar". As is customary for the locals in the city, many people in Panbazar like to have chai or tea (esp. Paradise hotel tea) in the early morning. It is very closely knit community and a friendly place.

Culture

Festivals such as Vinayaka chathurthi(Ganesh festival), Bonalu(Mahankali Jatara) and Sankranthi are celebrated with great style and spirit. Lord Vinayaka Idol which is annually placed at Pavan Club, Pan bazar Pandal is very famous in Hyderabad and has been consistently been selected as one of the top three pandals in the local competitions with its innovative designs. There is a lot of activity during these festivals in the area. During Sankranthi season, the sky is literally swamped with kites all over with loud speakers blaring from every building. Off late, due to the construction of high rise buildings, people find it difficult to fly kites.
