Bykovo, Moscow Oblast

Bykovo ( _ru. Быково) is an urban-type settlement in Ramensky District of Moscow Oblast, located km to mi|34 south-east of Moscow. Population: 9,000 (2006 est.); 9,235 (2002 Census); 10,395 (1989 Census).

It was founded in 1861–1862 upon construction of the Moscow-Ryazan railroad, replacing the former village km to mi|1.5|precision=1 to the south. Urban-type settlement status was granted to it in 1962.

Bykovo is a home (and a place of birth) for Pavel Chukhrai, Vladimir Sorokin, and Nikolay Rastorguyev.

Bykovo Airport and an aircraft repairment facility are located here.
