William Graham (Indiana politician)

William Graham (March 16, 1782 - August 17, 1858) was a U.S. Representative from Indiana.

Born at sea, Graham settled with his parents in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.He attended the public schools.He moved to Vallonia, Indiana, in 1811.He engaged in agricultural pursuits.He served as member of the Territorial house of representatives in 1812.He served as delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1816.He served as member of the State house of representatives 1816-1821 and served as speaker.He served in the State senate 1821-1833.

Graham was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1837-March 3, 1839).He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1838 to the Twenty-sixth Congress.He resumed agricultural pursuits.He died near Vallonia, Indiana, August 17, 1858.He was interred in the White Church Cemetery, Vallonia, Indiana.
