Walter Case

Walter Case (1776 - October 7, 1859) was a U.S. Representative from New York.

Born in Pleasant Valley, New York, Case was educated by private tutors.He attended Newburgh Academy, and was graduated from Union College, Schenectady, New York, in 1799.He studied law.He was admitted to the bar in 1802 and commenced practice in Newburgh.

Case was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Sixteenth Congress (March 4, 1819-March 3, 1821).He was affiliated with the Whig Party after its formation.He resumed the practice of law.He moved to New York City in 1844 and continued the practice of law until 1848, when he retired.He died in Fishkill, New York, October 7, 1859.He was interred in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
