Club career
After moving from his home in Guadeloupe at the age of 15, Comminges began his career in France playing for Amiens SC and Stade Reims before signing for Swindon Town on a one-year deal after being spotted by manager Paul Sturrock, who was on a scouting tour at the time, the previous year. Comminges played a total of 47 matches in all competitions during his only season at Swindon and was awarded the clubs player of the year award.[1]
On 1 May 2008 Comminges announced that he would be leaving Swindon at the end of the season to sign for Cardiff City,[2] despite the fact that at the time no official negotiations had begun.[3] He did eventually sign for the club on a two-year deal[4] and completed the move on 1 July. Starting the season on the bench, he made his debut for the club on 12 August during a 2–1 victory over Bournemouth in the Carling Cup before going on to make his league debut four days later against Doncaster Rovers. Comminges enjoyed an extended run in the first team at left back through September, covering for the injured Tony Capaldi and Mark Kennedy before Kennedy returned at the start of October.
On 24 November, having not featured for Cardiff during the 2010–11 season, Comminges joined League One side Carlisle United on a short term loan deal until 31 December 2010. Carlisle manager Greg Abbott hinted at the possibility of a permanent deal, should the loan be a success.
Abbott stated: "He is strong, he's quick and he has an excellent reputation, so we're looking forward to working with him. He's out of contract at Cardiff soon so, if things go well, there may even be an option for this to go further, but obviously we all want to take this initial period to settle him in, and we'll see how it goes from there."[5]
On 2 January 2011, Comminges joined Southend United from Cardiff City on a free transfer.[6] He made his debut the next day coming on as a second half sub in a 2-1 defeat to Cheltenham Town.
In May 2011 he was one of five players told they were to be released by the club.[7]
Comminges signed with Major League Soccer club Colorado Rapids on September 9, 2011[8].
International career
Prior to joining Swindon in the summer of 2007 Comminges played for the Guadeloupe in the Gold Cup, he played in every game he was available for including impressive victories over Canada and Honduras.
