William Chalmers (born 24 July 1907) was an association football player and manager, who is most well known for managing Italian side Juventus during the 1948-49 season [ [http://www.juventus1897.it/allenatori-scheda.asp?idallenatore=11&dati=1 Juventus1897.it] ] ; he is the one of two Scottish managers in the club's history. He was born in Bellshill, Scotland.
Biography
As a player Chalmers played for various clubs as a striker; he was transferred from Queens Park Rangers in 1928 for £2,500 to play for Newcastle United.
At Newcastle he played alongside club legend Hughie Gallacher, who was also born in Bellshill.
