Shannon Larratt (born September 29, 1973, in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada) is the creator and former editor and publisher of BMEzine. It is the oldest and largest body modification website on the internet, as well as the companion online community site IAM.BMEzine.com. He has also published several books, including the ModCon book. He is also an established online author, artist, computer programmer, film producer, and business owner.

Prior to his notoriety from the BMEzine websites, Shannon developed the first online casino for Warren B. Eugene, building on their CTI based casino systemsFact|date=June 2008. He was also the head developer for SciFAX, Canon fax-computer integration tool allowing stand-alone fax machines to act as printers, scanners, and automated units, a technology which foreshadowed and was ultimately replaced by the fax modemFact|date=June 2008. As a teen he released one of the first published VGA games (Alien Worlds)Fact|date=June 2008, and developed one of the few hardware-damaging trojans which worked by initiating a feedback loop in SoundBlaster hardwareFact|date=June 2008.

Shannon currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian citizen. His mother is the former host of the TV series VentureFact|date=June 2008. He made a cameo appearance in the Kevin Smith film Clerks II along with his ex-wife Rachel Larratt after Randal talks about a handicapped person with an interest in body modification. The couple share a daughter named Nefarious Freedom Larratt.

Ownership Issues and Split from BMEzine

In the late fall to early winter of 2007 there were issues over ownership of BMEzine. Larratt claimedFact|date=August 2008 to be locked out of what were formerly his websites (BMEzine, [http://iam.bmezine.com IAM] , [http://www.zentastic.com Zentastic] and others). In the time between the lock out and his return, the alternate site [http://www.bodytwo.com http://bodytwo.com] was used.

On May 14, 2008 Laratt [http://modblog.bmezine.com/2008/05/14/so-long-and-thanks-for-all-the-fish/ posted] Fact|date=August 2008 on [http://modblog.bmezine.com BME's modblog] that he would no longer be working at BMEzine. The post notes that ownership of BMEzine has been transferred to Rachel Larratt.
