Chester William Chapin (December 16, 1798 – June 10, 1883) was a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts.

Chester W. Chapin[1] was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, the youngest son of Ephriam and Mary [Smith] Chapin; six generations removed from the family's pilgrim immigrant Deacon Samuel Chapin attending common schools and Westfield Academy, Westfield, Massachusetts. He engaged in mercantile pursuits. Mail contractor, running post coaches and steamboats. He served as member of the Massachusetts Constitutional Convention of 1853. He served as president and director of the Western Railroad Corporation 1854-1867. He served as president of the Boston and Albany Railroad Co. 1868-1878, and one of the directors 1868-1880.

Chapin was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-fourth Congress (March 4, 1875-March 3, 1877). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1876 to the Forty-fifth Congress. He died in Springfield, Massachusetts, on June 10, 1883. He was interred in Springfield Cemetery.
