The school is at present a co-educational school with pupils aged 11 to 16. A sixth form is planned and the first intake will be in September 2007.
Management
Each academy has a Principal, supported by an Executive Director who has overall responsibility for both academies.
The headteacher at Sheffield Park Academy is Kath Turner. The school has just recently moved into its new building worth £30m. It can be seen on its website .

The Waltheof School was [http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/SCHOOL-CLOSURE-39SCANDAL39.1540853.jp rebuilt] at a cost of £5m in 1998 after being destroyed by a fire in 1995. It was originally known as Waltheof Secondary Modern School.
