Hebrew Academy of Nassau County was started in 1953 by Rabbi Meyer Fendel and is one of the oldest and largest Jewish high schools in the world.Fact|date=August 2007 There are 4 locations to the school: a preschool and an elementary school in West Hempstead, an elementary school in Plainview, and a Junior High/High School in Uniondale. It is also home to Ruach Day Camp during the summer. There are currently over 1,000 students in the four locations.
