CORE Music Foundation [http://www.coremusicfoundation.org] began as C.O.R.E.(Chicago's Organization of Rap/Hip-Hop Entertainment), a network of united Rap and Hip-hop artists working together to obtain success in the music industry.C.O.R.E. was founded by Yakira James [http://www.ebookmall.com/ebooks-authors/yakira-james-ebooks.htm] [http://www2.colum.edu/student-life/organization/bsu.html] in 1995. In 1996, the networkformed a student Chapter sponsored by Columbia College Chicago [http://www.colum.edu/] . On January 21, 2005, CORE Music Foundation was incorporated as anot-for-profit corporation in the State of Illinois [http://www.illinois.gov/] .

CORE Music Foundation offers Music Business seminars/workshops to educate artist, and educational arts programming in music and literacy for Children, Youth, Adults and Seniors. CORE Music Foundation provides outlets for creative expression, social interaction, and entertainment.
