Christof Ebert Born 1964
StuttgartNationality German Fields Systems and Software engineering Institutions Alcatel Alma mater University of Stuttgart, Kansas State University Christof Ebert (born 1964 in Stuttgart) is a German computer scientist and author, working in the field of systems and software engineering.
He studied electrical engineering and computer sciences from 1984 to 1990 at University of Stuttgart and at Kansas State University. In 1994 he received his PhD at University of Stuttgart on complexity control during the product life-cycle. Since 1994 he worked at Alcatel, first in Stuttgart, from 1996 onwards in Antwerp and as of 2001 in Paris. As director engineering he had global responsibility for software platforms, engineering processes and tools. Recognizing his contributions in software measurement, productivity improvement, Product Lifecycle Management and CMMI he was named member of Alcatel's technical academy. Since 2006 he is managing director and partner in a consulting company.
He is lecturing at University of Stuttgart, is a frequent keynote speaker at conferences and has authored several books and over 100 scientific publications. He serves on the editorial boards of IEEE Software and the Journal of Systems and Software and is working on the program committees of international conferences. Being a IEEE Distinguished Visitor he is working on requirements engineering, product management und software engineering.
