The Sikh Religious Society is a Not-for-Profit Religious Organization incorporated in 1972. It manages the largest Gurdwaara Sahib (Sikh Worship Center) of Midwest America at 1280 Winnetka Street, Palatine on a Campus spread over 14 Acres of land at a prime location in Chicago's metropolitan area. In a 5 day a week religious program, more than 3200 devotees visit the Gurdwaara Sahib for making prayers, listening to the Sikh religious hymns sung in sweet melodies (Keertan) and discourses on Spirituality.
Aims & Objectives :1. To promote interest in and disseminate information on Sikhism.2. To organize and simulate programs towards establishing Gurdwaras3. To organize discourses on Gurbani, Sikh history and Culture and Strive for establishment of a Central Institutue of Sikh Studies in USA.4. To organize libraries and establish a periodical.5. To encourage social and cultural gatherings in order to celebrate Sikh occasions.6. To organize affiliated local units all over USA.7. To organize programs of religious education for the Sikh community.8. To promote interfaith activities.
