December 13 ,1956 ) is the wife of Republican U.S. SenatorNorm Coleman ofMinnesota . She is an aspiring actor, model, and mother of two children, Jacob and Sarah Coleman. The Colemans had two other children, who died in infancy due toZellweger syndrome , a raregenetic disease . Coleman is Roman Catholic and her mother, Lois Casserly, was a leadingpro-life activist in Minnesota. Her husband is Jewish.A native of
St. Louis Park, Minnesota , Coleman began her professional careeras aballet dancer and performed with the Minnesota Dance Theater. She also danced with the Boston Ballet as well as the City Ballet and Harkness Repertory Theater companies in New York.Her acting credits include small roles in
