St. Anthony High School is a four-year
co-education al Roman Catholic high school located in Jersey City,New Jersey ,United States , operating under the supervision of theRoman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark .As of the 2004-05 school year, the high school had 75 students in 9th grade, 49 students in 10th grade, 50 students in 11th grade, 61 students in 12th grade and no ungraded students. The boys' basketball varsity, coached by
Bob Hurley , has been, over more than the past 30 years, the most dominant high school team in New Jersey's history. St. Anthony has won a national record 25 state championships, set with a 74-44 win in the 2008 sectional championship game overTrenton Catholic High School to win the Parochial B state title. His team has been the subject of a book, a documentary, and soon a movie based on the book. This year, the Friars are currently ranked the #1 team in the country, followed bySaint Benedict's Preparatory School , another New Jersey program.
