Geography

Kanekal is 94 KM from the district head quarters in Bellary. Bellary is well known for its business in Karnataka. Kanekal is famous for its storage tank, Chikkaneswara cheruvu. Kanekal has a temple, Chikkaneswara, dedicated to the god Siva. It is the highest paddy growing mandal in Ananthapur district.
