RAVIPADU (Telugu: రావిపాడు) [http://wikimapia.org/1682369/] is a major panchayat situated 4 km West of Narasaraopet along the Hyderabad highway. There are over 12 thousand people with various socio-religious backgrounds. Christianity and Hinduism are two major religions prevalent in the village. The village is divided in to many colonies as Main Village, Karcheri, Kotturu, Jaripet, Jamminagar, Malapalli, Madigapalli and Erukala Colony. Over convert|4000|acre|km2|0 of land is under irrigation which include wet and dry land. Paddy, chillies, Cotton and other commercial crops are produced annually. Tobacco once produced here was well acclaimed all over India. Roman Catholic Church (Named Immaculate Conception) built during the British Colonial time (1890) is considred to be the one of the oldest Churches in Andhra Pradesh. There are over 10 schools in Ravipadu run by different organizations. There is an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) where different job oriented vocational trainings are offered. Catholic missionaries play a major role in education, there are 3 Roman catholic Schools in the church compound. Unlike Kammas in other areas of AP here most of the people practicing Christianity seriously for over 150 years.

There are many Hindu temples for Lord Rama, Shiva and other Gods. It is said that many people from this village had fought for Nagarjuna sagar Irrigation project. There are over 300 people living in US, UK, Italy and other countries for better fortunes and careers. Politically active members can be seen in TDP,Congress and Communist parties. Currently Gadela Bharath Rao serving the Panchayat, he got elected as president in the year October 2006. There has been political differences between the people of two major political parties which usually trigger at the time of local body elections.

The village is very close to the Narasaraopet town. Many Schools, Colleges, Hospitals and Residential colonies which bear Narasaraopet name are actually part of Ravipadu village.
