This album = "Toy World" (1981)
Next album = " The Seaside" (1984)"Toy World" is the first album released by
Cardiacs , although they had already released "The Obvious Identity " cassette album under the name Cardiac Arrest. The cassette is actually a mixture of older Cardiac Arrest and newer
Cardiacs songs, and being recorded on a low budget, the sound quality is quite flat. It was available only on cassette at concerts and from the fan club. It is one ofCardiacs ' rarest items."
Is This The Life? " and "Nurses Whispering Verses" were re-recorded on later albums and appear here in their earliest incarnations. The uncredited track "Verses" is actually part of "Nurses Whispering Verses" played backwards. Many of the tracks have been recorded live and appear on "The Special Garage Concerts Vol I " and " Vol II". "Over and Over and Over and Over", "Big Noise In A Toy World" and "A Time For Rejoicing" will never be re-released as the master containing the tracks is no longer available.Track listing
