The Seaside is the second album from Cardiacs and was only produced on cassette (as with their earlier album releases).

It was produced with three different covers - a rubber stamped version, a black and white picture and a colour picture of Jim Smith. All versions are rare, with the 'stamped' cover being the rarest. It was only available through the fan club and at concerts.

Is This the Life?, A Little Man and a House and R.E.S. were re-recorded and appear on "A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window". Nurses Whispering Verses was re-recorded for "Sing to God". To Go Off and Things was re-recorded for the Big Ship E.P.
