James Henry Moyle (
17 September 1858 – 1946) was a prominent politician inUtah .He was the Democratic Party's candidate for governor in the 1908 Utah election. He served as assistant secretary of the treasury from 1917-1921 in the administration of
Woodrow Wilson , the first memember ofThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be appointed to a subcabinet position. This mission then coveredNew York ,Pennsylvania ,West Virginia ,Maryland ,Delaware theDistrict of Columbia ,Connecticut ,Massachusetts ,Rhode Island andNew Jersey . [Jenson, Andrew.
