URL = [http://www.starink-world.net/ www.starink-world.net]Ed Starink (born
December 17 ,1952 / also known as "Star Inc.") is a Dutchcomposer ,arranger ,session musician andmusic producer . Since his childhood he has been fascinated by music and taught himself to play lots of instruments.During his studies he worked for several major studios in the
Netherlands . As a sought-after keyboarder he was e.g. engaged to accompany theBeach Boys on theHammond organ and also to play keyboard forDavid Bowie .Ed Starink graduated from the Academy in 1976 and finally gave his own Academy lectures.
Ed Starink's classical education is quite audible. His debut "Cristallin" for example was arranged and composed according to classical composing rules, but completely arranged for and played on synthesizers.
But Ed Starink's most famous releases are his cover versions of wellknown but also of rather unknown spectacular synthesizer hits and movie/TV themes. These titles appeared at first on compilations like "Synthesizer Spectacular" which has been released on his own label "Star Inc."
Later at the end of the 80s Ed Starink cooperated with the big Dutch
major label "Arcade" and one of the most successful compilation series "Synthesizer Greatest" ("Synthétiseur – Les plus grands thèmes" inFrance ) conquered mainly the European markets. With millions sold copies this series opened up for innumerable music fans the wide world of electronic music.Although many
Jean Michel Jarre andVangelis fans use to dislike Ed Starink's cover versions (because they don't like cover versions at all), his versions are considered objectively without doubt an enrichment and ideally for an extensive introduction to the fascinating world of electronic music. In 1996 he decided to end creating cover versions and moved two years later toSouthern France .After a long recreational periode Ed Starink decided to fulfil his dream to compose an epos about the universe. This gigantic project will probably take about 10 years to complete. He started in 2002/2003 with preparing and composing for this project.
