The East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve is a protected area of global importance located in the Eastern Carpathians consisting of three national parks and three landscape parks in three countries:
#Bieszczady National Park ("Bieszczadzki Park Narodowy") and the two landscape parks that surround it - Ciśniańsko-Wetliński Park Krajobrazowy (Cisniansko-Wetlinski Landscape Park or Cisna-Wetlina Landscape Park) and Park Krajobrazowy Doliny Sanu (Doliny Sanu Landscape Park or San Valley Landscape Park) in Poland
#Poloniny National Park ("Národný park Poloniny") with adjacent areas in Slovakia
#Uzhansky National Nature Park ("Національний природний парк Ужанський") and the Nadsiansky (Nadsianskij) Regional Landscape Park in Ukraine
The reserve is part of the UNESCO's Programme on Man and the Biosphere and its overall area is 2,132.11 km². It was originally designated as a Polish–Slovak transboundary reserve in 1992; it was extended to include the Ukrainian part in 1998.
