Rho Indi is a yellow subgiant star in the constellation Indus. It is a naked eye star, but it is hardly visible, giving the Bright Star designation as HR 8701. This star is not visible in northern hemisphere except for the tropics. The age of the star is almost 13 Gya and will soon die away as planetary nebula.

On Sept 17, 2002, this star was found to have a planet Rho Indi b.
