Caucasus University is a privately held university which is located in Georgia, South Caucasus region. Caucasus University's (CU) mission is to stimulate, encourage and facilitate up-to date, worldwide accepted, innovative initiatives in teaching and research.

CU strives to disseminate ideas and skills of global significance, regional importance and lasting value in the South Caucasus region.

History

The Caucasus University was established in 2004 as an expansion of the Caucasus School of Business (CSB) (established in 1998) by a consortium consisting of Tbilisi State University and Georgian Technical University in partnership with Georgia State University (Atlanta, USA). Caucasus University currently consists of three schools: the School of Business, the School of Law, and the School of Media and offers degree and certificate programs.

Caucasus School of Business (CSB)

The mission of CSB is to assist Georgia's transition from a planned to a free market economy through training of a new generation of business professionals and to provide Georgia and neighboring countries with future business leaders. CSB of CU is the first educational institution to be awarded the Georgian Quality award for the high quality educational services provided to the students. CSB is an active member of Central and East European Management Development Association ( CEEMAN). Recent CEEMAN International Quality accreditation has made CSB the very first educational institution to be granted such accreditation in the South Caucasus Region. CEEMAN International Quality accreditation is closely in line with the European EQUIS requirements and provides a quality improvement system and a benchmarking tool for the numerous business schools in the Central and East European region.

CSB offers the following support services to its students. Library, Career Development Center (CDC), Department of Scientific Research, IT Department, and Alumni Association.

The library collection contains over 3000 textbooks and student resources. The Career Development Center began in 2001. The Career Development Center is a full member of NACE ( National Association of Colleges and Employers). The Career Development Center of CSB has business relations with organizations functioning in Georgia. As a rule when vacancies are available, representatives of organizations address the center to fill the existing vacant positions. The Research Department works on several projects, such as the creation of an English- Georgian Business Dictionary, Georgian Money Laundering Project, INTAS and TEMPUS projects etc. The IT Department operates the computer labs.Computer laboratories are equipped with up – to – date hardware ( PIV) and appropriate software. CSB’s Alumni Association’s main goal is to keep CSB alumni together and help the school in its future endeavors.

Bachelor of Business Administration

The B.A. Program is crucial for those seeking a successful career in business. The objective of the program is to provide students with practical skills that will enable them to run their own companies and perform effectively in business organizations. Within the program framework students learn how to face complicated situations in highly competitive business world and build confidence that helps them make successful careers in business. The B.A. Program has the following specializations: Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management, International Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Dual Bachelor of Business Administration/Master of Business Administration

The Dual BBA degree is a joint program of CSB and Robinson College of Business. The four year Dual BBA program consists of two years at CSB -Tbilisi, Georgia, followed by two years at the Robinson College of Business. The program is conducted in English language. Its objective is to teach students practical skills that will enable them to run their own companies and perform effectively at business organizations. Concentration of this program are: management, Marketing, Finance, and International Business.

Master of Business Administration

The MBA Program Of CSB provides knowledge and skills in a wide range of business disciplines and offers a unique opportunity to examine current business and management issues. It allows working students to compete more effectively for top positions in business. Areas of specialization include: Finance, Marketing, management, Accountancy, International Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Health Care Management and Agribusiness Management.

Dual Master of Business Administration

The Dual MBA Program is a joint venture between Grenoble Graduate School of Business and Caucasus School of Business. Grenoble is accredited by all three major Business School accreditation services, the AMBA(Association of M.B.A.'s), EQUIS (European Foundation for Management Development)and AACSB(Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Upon completion of the program students will be awarded the Master of Business Administration degree from GGSB and the International Executive Master of Business Administration degree from CSB. Currently there are three specialized tracks: Global Management, Management Consulting and Business Intelligence.

Doctoral

CSB also offers a Ph.D Program jointly with Georgia State University (USA). The program is offered in English with specializations in finance, Marketing, and Management. Robinson College of Business provides necessary academic and administrative support for the program through workshops, mentoring and experiential learning. The program is supported by Eurasia Foundation and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of USA. The goal of the program is to evaluate quality academics to serve the needs of business schools as well as private and public sectors in Georgia and the neighboring countries.

Businesswomen’s Leadership Program

The Businesswomen’s Leadership Program assists women entrepreneurs in starting or developing an existing business.

Management Development Program

The Management Development Program is targeted at the middle and senior managers of companies; it helps them apply new, functional knowledge and prospects in the practical business simulation that integrates all the key business areas needed for successful management of the whole enterprise.The goal of the Summer School program is to enhance knowledge in Business administration and promote team working practice among students.

International Partnerships

CSB believes that the international experience and exposure to other countries is an important part of the education; therefore, CSB students are encouraged to take advantage of such opportunity at CSB partner institutions. CSB partner institutions provide opportunity of gaining international experience to Junior as well as Senior CSB students . Students eligible for the exchange programs attend a partner institution for one semester and take a courses relevant to their program of study.In - Service Training. CSB offers special training courses for those organizations that are interested in training their staff in different spheres of business.

Caucasus School of Law (CSL)

Caucasus School of Law was established in the year 2005. CSL offers the best model of modern education which is very well adapted to the situation in Georgia. The objectives of Caucasus School of Law are: realization of personal potential; receipt of the first and second levels of law education; delivery of the principle and general courses in law; establishment as the key education center in the sphere of jurisprudence; preparation and training of new scientific and educational personnel.The international partners of Caucasus University recognize that our trainings are not only simple intellectual exercises, but rather they offer the best alternatives of research and defence in law.Caucasus School of Law is the first institution in Georgia to implement LWRAP in its curriculum.

The motto of CSL is : “ The law is strict, but it is the law”, and this demand is the first to be realized in the educational process.

The curriculum, modules, syllabus, and students’ evaluation system correspond to the expectations of the Georgian Ministry of Education and science and the credit transfers European norms ( ESTC).

The students expand their knowledge through master classes, meetings and dialogues.The second major priority of CSL is the scientific and research activities of students and professors. The students’ self-governing organization, CSL-U, became the member of the European Students’ Family ( ESIB).

Caucasus School of Law offers LL.B, LL.M, and Certificate programs.

Bachelor of Laws

The LL.B program in law is aimed at individuals who want build a successful career in law.

Master of Laws

The LL.M advanced degree program allows specialization in a particular area of law. CSL is the first LL.M. program in GeorgiaFact|date=November 2007. CSL’s LL.M program specializations are: International Law, Corporate Law, Banking and insurance Law, Commercial Law, Tax and Customs Law, Public and Informational Law, Administrative Law Criminal Law and Constitutional Law.

Certificate Programs in Law

Certificate Programs are aimed at the professionals who seek to expand their knowledge in some area of law, for instance in Human Rights Law, Comparative Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, etc.

Caucasus School of Media (CSM)

Caucasus School of Media, established in 2007, is a novelty in the higher education sphere in Georgia. The school offers bachelor’s as well as master’s programs employing a western style educational service package of modern media technologies. New technologies exist in Georgia in the 21st century

This is a new stage of development, which is the initial phase of information-oriented society. In the conditions of this new formation, information proves to be the main resource for the social progress. It is natural that journalism is progressively developing. The profession of a journalist is becoming more and more important due to the increase of demand for information. High pace of technology development introduced new, technologically overloaded professions to media. In addition to analytical thinking and writing it requires technical skills, basic knowledge of management and marketing, as well as a set of other skills to be possessed by a journalist. In order to acquire all above mentioned, combination of specialized knowledge is necessary. Bachelor’s and Master’s modules of Caucasus School of Media (CSM) are oriented on teaching and realization of this specific knowledge. Motto of the school “CARPE DIEM – Seize the Day” – with its contents and symbolism points out that every day, every hour or a minute of modern society, is so dynamic and loaded, it must be promptly and professionally covered by the media. Teachers are professors of the Caucasus Media School (CSM) so as leading journalists of the Georgian media, well-known and important faces for the society and professional Georgian and Foreign experts trusted by the public.

Caucasus Media School (CSM) introduces interactive teaching methods: discussions, master classes, simulations, presentations. Studio format of teaching is extremely important for the formation of student’s individual writing style.

Bachelor of Journalism

The Bachelor’s program ( SS.B) of journalism of the Caucasus Media School (CSM) consists of 10 subjects: - 5 modules of press, 5 modules of TV-radio journalism, 5 modules of international journalism, 7 subjects of basic university disciplines. Sequence, contextual and quantitative equality is ensured. By means of material integrity academic intensity is kept optimal.

Master of Journalism

The Master’s program(SS.M) of the Caucasus Media School (CSM) is targeted for bachelor's alumni and specialists who were issued diplomas in journalism so as in: Law; International Relations; Information Technologies; Banking; Business Management and Administration; Humanitarian Sciences; Social-Political Sciences. Master’s Program of the Caucasus Media School (CSM) incorporates areas of the international, broadcasting and print media; research trends of media management, media law and media technologies. Normative duration of the Master’s Program is 2-5 years.
