The Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area is a metropolitan area in the
South Plains region ofTexas , USA, that covers two counties - Lubbock and Crosby. As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 249,700 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 267,211).
