Bob (Robin) Neumeier is an American
sportscaster forNBC Sports , specializing inthoroughbred horse racing. Neumeier is originally fromWeymouth, Massachusetts and is a 1972 graduate ofSyracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in television and radio.Career
After graduating from college, Neumeier worked in the sports department of the
Boston Globe , and didpublic relations work for theNew England Whalers of theWorld Hockey Association (who later became the NHL's Hartford Whalers). Neumeier’s first job in broadcasting began in 1975 on WTIC inHartford, Connecticut where he called play-by-play of the Whalers. He also served as an anchor-reporter forWFSB television during that time.From 1981 - 2000, Neumeier served as a weekend sports reporter at
WBZ-TV inBoston During this period, Neumeier also hostedSportschannel ’s US Pro Ski Tour, reported on theNHL forABC Sports , served as play-by-play commentator for theBoston Bruins on WBZ Radio (1995-1999), reported forESPN , and provided play-by-play coverage ofBoston University hockey for Fox Sports Net New England.From 2002 - 2005, Neumeier served as co-host with
Dale Arnold onWEEI radio's midday "Dale & Neumy" show. He replaced long time Boston sports radio personalityEddie Andelman and was subsequently replaced in 2005 by former Boston Globe sports columnistMichael Holley . During this period, he also served as a track and field reporter for NBC at the Athens Summer Olympics and has reported on WBZ-TV'sNew England Patriots ’ Gameday and Fifth Quarter.Since leaving WEEI, Neumeier has covered the
